MTV and the Viacom Digital Studio are seeking a Freelance Senior Social Media Strategist, Lifestyle to oversee the day-to-day operations and publishing strategy for our new Cribs lifestyle vertical. The candidate will help conceive and implement a vision for the team that positions the vertical for digital and social media excellence. The person will be embedded with the lifestyle vertical team, working with every group that supports the project to deliver the strongest representation of the vertical across all channels. This role will report to the Director, Lifestyle, MTV. This position is not remote and located in Los Angeles. 

Responsibilities Include:

+ Lead the vertical’s audience growth on social and digital content strategy and be able to pivot based on data learnings

+ Manage day-to-day operations for the team, helping the Director carry out the overall social media strategy

+ Develop a content distribution process, proper posting cadence and slate, and ensure videos and other content pieces are posted across platforms at the appropriate times

+ Partner with our data analytics lead to identify themes and trends resonating with our audience, reporting back to all relevant groups

+ Work closely with talent and producers to capture content for social platforms

+ Stay on top of emerging digital and social products, ensuring that we are at the forefront of innovation

+ Oversee Integrated Marketing partnerships to execute branded partnerships on social platforms

+ Collaborate with Consumer Marketing on paid social campaigns/content amplification and be able to pivot strategy based on data learnings

+ Manage relationships with social media vendors on behalf of the project

Basic Qualifications:

+ 5+ years of digital/social creative experience, preferably within a production setting

+ Lifestyle and social media culture expertise is essential

+ A deep understanding of all social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Pinterest, and other emerging platforms

+ Proven track record of creating new initiatives and ideas into successful social media projects and campaigns

+ Strong analytical, critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills

+ Robust knowledge and personal connection to the MTV brand and franchises

+ Relevant experience working on production/television and/or on-air live events
