WNBC is looking for a Fleet Operations Administrator. This position will assist the Director of News Operations with fleet management and field operation needs. Must be available to work flexible hours weekends and holidays. Vehicle maintenance knowledge a plus. Responsibilities:Vehicle Management
  • Schedule routine vehicle maintenance, inspections, and generator maintenance.
  • Maintain vehicle documentation i.e. insurance cards, registration, I-Pass, gas cards.
  • Work closely with scheduling manager to make sure vehicle schedule is accurate.
  • Work closely with vehicle maintenance vendors to ensure WNBC standards
  • Coordinate fleet car washes at Fort Lee, Long Island and 25th St. garages.
  • Fill out Comcast accident report forms and submit photos.
  • Manage news parking tickets through Parking Tickets.com.
  • Respond to roadside incidents and coordinate vehicle pick-ups and local service appointments.

    ENG Safety Requirements
  • Make visual vehicle safety checks
  • Check and replace fire extinguishers and CO detectors as needed.
  • Replace personal protection equipment as needed.
  • Make sure all safety binders are provided to each news vehicle.

    Computer Skills
  • Have good computer skills working in a variety of WNBC windows field operation applications.
  • Manage vehicle and equipment discrepancy reports.
  • Ensure crew supplies i.e. vehicle supplies, oil, cleaning materials, and alkaline batteries are available.
  • Support live remotes and breaking news.
  • Distribute daily end of day status reports on issues that require attention.


  • Qualification / Requirements:
  • BA or equivalent experience
  • Previous fleet management experience
  • Excellent relationship skills necessary with internal and external clients
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated project management abilities.
  • Must be able to drive all types of WNBC vehicles i.e. Explorers, E-350 vans, Suburbans, mini-vans.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to multitask and work with changing priorities.
  • Impeccable communication abilitiy with both internal and external constituents.
