KSTU-TV FOX 13, the Tribune-owned FOX affiliate in Salt Lake City, Utah, has an immediate opening for the position of Assignment Editor/Digital Content Producer to manage the development and production of journalism on all platforms.Responsibilities
The Assignment Editor/Digital Content Producer will work closely with newsroom management, producers, reporters and photojournalists to deliver local news for broadcast, digital and social. They will be responsible for curating and enterprising news content, responding quickly to breaking news, developing contacts within the community, and will participate in long-term editorial planning.
A passion for journalism and local news is required.Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of reporting, sourcing, transparency and journalism ethics. Familiarity and comfort with Twitter and Facebook are required, and the candidate should understand how social media is an asset to a news organization. They must be experienced with Associated Press-style writing and able to craft effective social media posts.
A college degree and a minimum of two years of journalism experience, including producing digital content, is preferred. Must be willing and able to work a variety of shifts, including mornings and weekends.
Must be willing to submit to a background check. Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
