Role Summary/Purpose:

The Made in NY Media Center by IFP Marketing Manager is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Development, and is an essential part in making sure the mission of the organization is clearly communicated. The role's primary focus is to develop and execute marketing activities and strategies that drive membership, support programming, classes, events, and venue rentals, and elevate the Media Center brand. This position requires a creative and self-motivated individual with effective project management and organizational skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Develop and/or maintain strategic marketing plan aligned with The IFP/Media Center’s vision, mission and objectives to ensure the appropriate structures, systems, competencies and values are developed to meet the objectives of the Marketing department
  • Refine and optimize positioning and consumer targeting for membership, classes, media arts gallery, rentals and general programming
  • Work closely with the IFP/Media Center team in the development and execution of an integrated communication strategy including print, digital (e.g. social media+), consumer promotions, grassroots, and retail activation
  • Steward the ongoing development of the IFP/Media Center’s brand identity and oversee evolution of campaign creative with consistent visual and literal brand messaging
  • Manage matrix of partners (creative, agency, etc.) to ensure on-brand and salient messaging and design
  • Manage Marketing Coordinator and the tactical execution of the weekly newsletter, website project and content management, copywriting, event marketing plans, etc.
  • Drive a robust metrics and measurement program to assess the ROI/effectiveness of various marketing programs and the overall marketing budget. Recommend changes to campaign strategy as appropriate
  • Achieve marketing objectives by contributing marketing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends; determining system improvements; implement change
  • Meet marketing financial objectives by forecasting requirements; participate in annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiate corrective actions
  • Accomplish marketing objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising and trade promotion programs
  • Identify marketing opportunities by determining consumer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecast projected business; establish targeted market share
  • Improve product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities
  • Sustain rapport with key partners and stakeholders, constantly exploring specific needs and anticipating new opportunities
  • Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED:

  • 5 years experience in Marketing preferably in the Media industry
  • A passion for media and a desire to affect change in the NYC storytelling and startup community
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with CRM
  • Excellent organizational skills; detail-oriented, and deadline driven
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with Media Center members, prospects, stakeholders, sponsors and staff

Preferred:

  • Undergraduate degree,
  • Managerial experience
  • Proven record of success in digital marketing
  • Experience with Wordpress or other CMS
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Deep affinity for technology
