Job Purpose:The Supervising Producer, News on Access and Access Live will supervise both staff and process related to breaking news and enterprises stories as well as contribute to overall segment and story development. This individual will report to the Senior Producer, Editorial.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Supervise news development, reporting and follow-up
  • Train staff in news development and reporting as required
  • Assist in oversight of how segments are developed, layered and executed on a daily basis
  • Directly responsible for talent preparation and training producers in talent preparation
  • Segment and Field produce, and write as required


  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in either of the following: English, Communications, Journalism, Publicity or related field.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years TV experience, including at least a minimum of 3 years of managerial responsibility.

    Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
  • Must be 18 years or greater
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
  • Must have ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings due to news cycle and breaking news.
  • Eligible to work under the NABET contract

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years previous work experience in entertainment.
  • Must be social media savvy.
  • Must be an entertainment news authority.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Strong organizational, and customer service skills with great attention to detail.
  • Must demonstrate a high quality of work performed, both accurately and efficiently.
  • Self-motivated with ability to prioritize work and multitask over a wide range of responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to think clearly and quickly under pressure.
  • Must work effectively under own initiative and strict deadlines.
