Description

Join the Northrop Grumman Communications team and help drive the company’s business objectives by implementing dynamic multimedia strategies.

In this role, you will serve as project manager, team leader and video/photo production specialist. You will oversee all aspects of content production, create a multimedia strategy and inspire teamwork and maintain a collaborative, cooperative creative environment.  This full-time position is located in Linthicum, Maryland, and reports to the director of Interactive Media.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Leadership

• Excellent project management and people leadership skills;  provide daily leadership, management and coaching to video/photo team

• Collaborate with all key stakeholders to ensure clarity of projects; hold yourself and others accountable for meeting deadlines and delivering accurate, high-quality work

• Delegate assignments across videographers and photographers; meet with the team regularly to ensure clarity of assignments, allocate resources and projects to appropriate team members, provide guidance and feedback on the team’s performance

• Serve as a trusted advisor and work in partnership with other leaders to integrate messages in support of business priorities  

• Willingness to challenge the status quo and proactively propose and pilot creative solutions

• Accepts ownership and accountability

 

Diligent Project Management

• Build and maintain a production calendar; manage multiple projects from concept through completion

• Check in frequently to understand status of all projects, redirect resources if necessary in order to meet shifting priorities and deadlines

• Prioritize workflow across team members

• Arrange and lead project planning meetings, to include intake of the project, storyboarding and regular milestone checks

• Creative problem solver

 

Quality Content Production / Execution

• Develop a video/photo strategy aligned with business objectives and priorities

• Lead the management of all logistics for all photo and video shoots, including leading internal and external teams

• Manage assets and budgets; source and manage external resources; contribute to purchase orders, statements of work and internal work orders; negotiate contracts in partnership with Business Management and Procurement 

• Concentrate on developing and managing internal efficiencies and processes 

• Maintain brand strength and consistency

 

Collaboration and Cooperation

• Execute a holistic creative strategy with creative team members across the company

• Lead brainstorming sessions that support pillars and strategic priorities

• Contribute insight and creative suggestions throughout all phases of project development; outline and document solutions and resource plans

• Serve as a key communicator for the multimedia function; make and implement suggestions to improve the project management process across teams; provide a positive stakeholder experience to earn repeat business

Qualifications

 Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree; 10 years of direct experience with creative design and direction; at least 10 years leading diverse teams. In lieu of a communications degree, four additional years of relevant experience may be acceptable

• Strong, positive people leadership skills

• Excellent project management, time management skills and attention to detail

• Exceptional videography/photography production capabilities 

• Ability to understand stakeholder and business needs and audiences to recommend the best possible product 

• Passion for creative thinking, storytelling and creating the best exposure and experience for our stakeholders

• Ability to be on call during high-volume times and/or weekends

• Ability to lift and maneuver photo and video equipment en route to and from shoots

• Ability to travel 50%, or more, of the time; travel includes intra-office within the DC metro area, as well as other U.S. sites in support of the business

• Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate and gain consensus among colleagues with disparate views
