Calling all social media mavens who want to be a thought leader at a top entertainment brand. We are seeking a Social Media Manager for Universal Kids, NBCUniversal’s network for kids ages 2-12 and their families. The Social Media Manager will manage social media strategy and day-to-day implementation across platforms in order to drive user acquisition, engagement and fandom. She/he will have a strong working knowledge of core social media platforms and a desire to keep their finger on the pulse of the evolving social media environment. The Social Media Manager will be the go-to for Universal Kids social media and a key member of the marketing team, focused on gaining more share of voice for Universal Kids.

Responsibilities
  • Be the voice of the Universal Kids brand on social media. Ideate posts/social activity and write post copy for owned social media channels. Ensure that the social media voice and point of view reflects and promotes the brand and key shows
  • Find real-time, relevant and appropriate ways to insert our brand into key conversations
  • Run day-to-day management of key social platforms including editorial calendars and posting
  • Collaborate with internal Brand Creative team to develop graphic and video needs for dynamic, engaging posts
  • Work closely in planning campaign support for priority shows. Ideate, coordinate, and oversee production of content plans for show launch and sustainment, including proper optimization of boosted content
  • Collaborate with extended marketing team and manage third party agencies, vendors and influencers to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns
  • Monitor social media platforms and ensure social media guidelines are adhered to including removal of red-flagged or inappropriate content
  • Oversee community manager and engagement/conversation with social audience
  • Share real-time insights across departments and work with internal Research Department to ensure social media performance is evaluated on an ongoing basis (insights, sentiment, measurement, analysis, reporting). Consistently apply learnings to optimize social media activity
  • Work with Sales/Integrated Marketing team to ideate and execute client opportunities; Implement added-value opportunities for advertisers, partnerships and sister networks
  • Stay current with industry trends and the competition. Experiment with emerging platforms, technologies and dynamic activity that impact the social landscape

  • Maintain close communication with Legal and S&P team


  • Qualifications/Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • 3+ years of social media experience and a passion for all things social media
    • Strong spoken/written communicator with the ability to develop creative, clear, and concise storytelling for a variety of audiences
    • Self-starter, ability to jump in
    • Can think creatively and analytically to continue to create and test cutting edge social activity
    • Proven collaborator with ability to work across teams and varying levels of management
    • Working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and Snapchat. Unafraid to learn emerging platforms
    • Proactive and highly organized with ability to appropriately assess and respond to time sensitive, high profile issues
    • Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and other graphic design/basic video skills are a plus
