The Director Casting/Talent is responsible for scheduling, interviewing, recommending, and selecting the principal cast, and bit players that will be considered by the Creative executive team, Directors and General Producers in the production in Latin America and USA. The Director is also responsible for the overall management and coordination of the Talent Department which includes Casting/Talent Manager, Talent Coordinator, and Talent/Casting Assistant.
  • Meets with writers to understand character needs
  • Reads the scripts and annotates it regarding the theme and character motivations presented
  • Consults with the Head of the Talent Management, Head of content, produces and General Producer in regards to casting preferences or certain roles
  • Responsible for maintaining a database of talent and agents
  • Responsible for maintaining exclusive talent book and databases
  • Responsible for identifying new talent, casting agencies and acting schools.
  • Develops a list of talent from resume, photo and video files, performance notes, and interviews while taking into consideration the emotional characteristics, physical characteristics, and physical requirements of each character to be casted
  • Coordinates with Talent department personnel to follow up with performers and agents on their availability and interest in the project
  • Requests updated resumes, photos, films and video tapes for performers under consideration and distributes scripts accordingly
  • Coordinates with Production Management casting needs and budgets
  • Coordinates with Talent department personnel to schedule performers for casting, interviews and auditions
  • Maintains notes and comments of the interview/audition proceedings for each candidate
  • Provides Head of Talent, VP of Content, Production, Executive Producer and General Producer with casting recommendations after casting / interviews
  • Coordinates creative brainstorming sessions with casting team for talent proposals
  • Coordinates presentations of talent proposals, casting selections for Head of Talent, Producers, etc.
  • Responsible for coordinating the creation of supporting materials for presentations (databases, presentations, documents as needed)
  • Creates talent requests for new talent for Miami productions
  • Works with the Legal Department and Human Resources to negotiate contract on selected talent
  • Analyzes the changing needs for bit players and extras
  • Participates in selection process of Guest Stars and figurant as needed
  • Controls release of extras, guest starts and figurants and submits to Legal for review
  • Works with production team to solve unexpected problems with talent
  • Organizes accent reduction workshops for actors as needed
  • Works under the direct supervision of the VP, Production Strategy and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Ensures that all work is done under the technical guidelines and operations procedures of Telemundo Studios’ infrastructure and adheres to EHS/OSHA/SAGAFTRA regulations and procedures
  • Follows policies, applicable laws, and regulations to protect his/her own health and safety as well as that of other workers, the public, and the environment
  • Presents ideas that support EHS goals and policies to your business or EHS leader
  • Raises concerns about possible violations of EHS policies to your manager, business and EHS Leader



  • • Willingness to travel and on weekends with short notice
    • Must be willing to work in the greater Miami, Florida area
    • Must be 18 years or older
    • Must have a valid driver’s license
    • Must be “on call” 24 hours a day /7 days a week
    • Must be fluent in English and Spanish (speak, read & write)
    • Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
    • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
    • Must be available to work (whenever necessary for show production) early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, and natural disaster emergencies.
    • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
    • Ability to work outside of regular hours.
