Location: St. Louis County
Status: Freelance, 40 hrs/wk, onsite
Estimated Duration: 3 months
Starts: 10/15
Rate: $15-$20/hr; DOE

Job Description:
Our client is hiring a freelance Communications / PR Specialist with 2+ years of corporate communications and public relations experience within their corporate communications department for 3 months while covering a maternity leave.

Communications / PR Specialist Responsibilities:
* Develop, coordinate and execute public relations projects from initial concept to project completion
* Produce (identify, research and write) and distribute communications that are on time and on message including press releases, media pitches, award entries, speeches and other materials as needed
* Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including trade media as well as company leaders to execute public relations objectives
* Help monitor and track the success of public relations programs

Communications / PR Specialist Requirements:
* Understanding of journalistic/feature writing and AP style
* Understanding of message/communication delivery options including public relations applications, social media and other digital formats (email, web)
* Understanding of Microsoft Office as well as Adobe InDesign
* Strong professional/feature writing skills and the ability to write for various audiences both internal and external to the company
* Bachelor's degree in communications, PR or journalism
