Job Purpose: As a Production Assistant, you will work directly with producers, senior producers and executive producer to assist in production of live news.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Order and coordinate all graphic elements for airOversee the airing of all graphic elements in control room during live programWork closely with producers to research, select, and locate required footage for broadcastPrint scripts for anchors and ensure host is prepared for live broadcast; build scrolling crawl daily and maintain with continual updates and breaking newsAssist in compiling research for anchors, maintaining on air updates during live programGather information on breaking stories for anchors to relay on air
• Bachelor’s degree
• Demonstrated interest in current events, politics and public affairs
• Must have the ability to work under deadline pressure
• Strong internet research techniques
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in United States
• Must be willing to work overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends, often with short notice
• Preferred major – Journalism, Political Science, History or related field
• Strong knowledge of social media
• Knowledge of Avid/Interplay and iNews preferred
