News 12 Networks is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, “people-person”, special events coordinator to assist with execution of a variety of community events. Requires a thorough, friendly, multi-tasker who has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about News 12. Job requires extensive local travel throughout the tri-state area. This is a freelance position that requires availability to work weekends if needed. Responsible for transportation, display and distribution of all event signage and premium items. Must be willing and able to drive a large vehicle and lift heavy displays in order to set up at events. Engage audience on-site and perform other job-related and administrative duties as assigned. The freelance position is on-call as needed with fluctuating hours. Candidates must have a flexible schedule and be available to work various shifts with short notice at times.
- Should possess good interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication.
- Knowledge of social media and digital photography a plus.
- Must handle pressure well and be a team player whose attitude is pitch-in, no-job-is-too-small.
- Strong initiative and follow-up skills essential.
- Some heavy lifting (30+ lbs) required.
- Must have valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving large vehicles.
- Ability to work flexible hours as most events are at nights and weekends.
