We are currently seeking an Imprint Sales Director to maximize sales for individual titles and categories for our Avery, Berkley, Dutton, Putnam and TarcherPerigee imprints.  Acting as the main point of contact for both Sales and Publishing, this highly visible role is involved in all stages of the publishing process, communicates across all levels and departments, and is responsible for helping to identify and grow sales.  The Director works closely with colleagues within the sales and publishing departments to resolve issues and to provide recommendations for on-going sales initiatives.

This position also participates heavily in planning and running seasonal and weekly meetings and other meetings as needed.

Specific responsibilities include:
* Analyzing sales reports for frontlist and reorder opportunities.
* Goal setting based on current marketplace and publisher expectations.
* Communication regarding breaking publicity with reps, publishers, and operations.
* Ongoing sales and merchandising discussions with reps and Publishing.
* Working with Title Manager, Inventory and Publishing to anticipate stock needs.
* Leading title discussions in meetings with staff, marketing departments, and sales people based in NY and the Field.
* Assisting with planning agendas and running various meetings.
* Coordinating drop-ins with publisher, inventory, reps and operations.
* Liaising between publisher and reps for material requests and other general questions.

* Minimum of 7 years prior sales and/or publishing management experience with a knowledge of account base
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with employees across all levels and functions within an organization
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to thrive under pressure and effectively problem solve
* Highly proactive with the ability to adapt quickly to changes
* Strong sales analysis and negotiation skills
Prior supervisory experience preferred
