Job Purpose

That is the role of the Marketing Specialist working on the NBC News & MSNBC linear & digital brands. In a fast-paced news environment we need a talented person who can brainstorm at the speed of the news cycle and execute a campaign with precession.

As the Specialist you are a key conduit between the MSNBC & NBC News (editorial, strategic content, & branded content) teams and the sales team to effectively translate 1) a brand’s/client’s needs into actionable cross-media programs from ideation through campaign launch, and 2) MSNBC & NBC News editorial initiatives into sellable opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Monetization
  • Client-Specific RFPs & Brainstorms: partner with sales and Network Partnership Director and VP to formulate marketable sales strategies that are customized to fit specific client objectives; includes brainstorming and liaising with site editorial/production teams to create compelling NBC News & MSNBC sales programs.
  • Optimize Sales Campaigns: Oversee the post-sale process including creating integrated series for linear & digital and managing branded content campaigns. The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for working on a campaign from start to finish.
  • Executional Support: Partner with internal and external team members to deliver on the vision sold to clients.

  • Messaging
  • Sales Collateral: create NBC News & MSNBC sales materials, programming/event show sheets, case studies, research one-sheets, etc.
  • Internal Communication/Facilitation: Act as a point of contact for inbound NBC News & MSNBC marketing requests and liaise with all appropriate NBC News & MSNBC groups (digital sales, on-air marketing/sales, editorial, research, etc.) to facilitate efficient communication. Educate internal constituents on key NBC News & MSNBC priorities.


  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Proven project management expertise
    • 3+ years of experience at an agency, media company, sales organization, where the individual was responsible for presentation, creative and promotion development
