SENIOR VIDEO PRODUCER: CONTENT & STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS

Men’s Journal is seeking an experienced Senior Video Producer to oversee the publication’s video operation, driving the creative vision for the brand and supporting the sales/marketing team with premium initiatives. We’re looking for a proven leader who can thrive in a lean environment and create great content with one eye on editorial and the other on revenue. This is a hands-on role, so the ideal candidate would be someone who could go out and shoot one day while developing a cool series idea back at the office the next. It’s an exciting opportunity to help expand our audience and pioneer new forms of visual storytelling.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage, assign and supervise output from junior video producers and freelancers
  • Work on a range of editorial and marketing projects, including workout programs, docu-style pieces, stop-motion and social-first video
  • Develop Men’s Journal-specific video franchises
  • Collaborate with marketing team on strategic partnerships and branded content
  • Client facing presentation and project management in branded content development
  • Shoot on DSLR and mirrorless cameras
  • Edit with Premiere Pro
  • Design, execute and develop templates for video projects from start to finish
  • Basic set-dressing, prop coordination and location research; being resourceful and creative with small budgets
  • Hire and direct freelancers for local and remote shoots
  • Execute strong media management – be able to seamlessly pick-up and hand-off edits
  • Translate ideas from editorial teams into successful video formats
  • Travel to destinations as a one-man-band producer/shooter/editor as needed
  • Work occasional weekends as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 5 years professional experience
  • Fluency in Premiere Pro
  • Portfolio that demonstrates strong editorial judgment, branded content understanding and experience, and technical skill
  • Client facing experience and capability
  • Understanding of color correction and audio mixing
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize edits
  • Ability to handle all aspects of video production
