WGCL-TV, a Meredith station, is searching for a Promotion Manager. Through the effective use of station on air and web marketing resources, the Promotion Manager oversees the stations' brand image through various promotion and marketing efforts to ensure the station's image. This position manages Promotion Producers.
Essential Job Functions 40% Develops and supervises all local promos including image, sweep, topical and all other promotional on-air, on the web and utilized in any outside media 20% Works directly with the Creative Services and News Directors as well as outside consultants on station brand/image, projects/campaigns and research 10% Coordinates and purchases an outside advertising, including grant/coop advertising, which utilizes print, ratio and outdoor mediums. 10% Interfaces with other station departments to coordinate and execute station wide campaigns/events 10% Manages and motivates staff of Promotions Producers, assists in the selection of Promotion Producers 5% Oversees the station's logs and ensure the station's priorities are addressed appropriately 5% Coordinate promotional contests; legal documentation regarding contest rules and forms, prizes and manage fulfillment
Experience: Minimum five years related market experience.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent training and/or experience Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent writing skills
- Solid editing background
- Strong managerial skills, including team building, communications, budgeting and administration
- Detailed experience and understanding of all aspects of station promotion and TV production including news, sports, public service and sales presentations.
- Avid editing experience desired
- Media buying experience desired
Less than 10% travel required.
