Business Travel News, the leading B2B publication in the managed business travel and meetings industry, seeks an editor with 3+ years' experience writing/editing news stories and business-oriented content, to join the team in our midtown Manhattan office. The ideal candidate will show aptitude with complex topics, a readiness to learn in a fast-paced, technical environment and skill interviewing senior level business executives. Business Travel News produces 22 annual print issues, daily website and newsletter content, monthly webinars and other content features. As part of the The BTN Group, BTN editors also moderate sessions at more than 25 annual industry conferences. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in journalism or related concentration. Background in business travel or meetings business is a plus. This is not a destination-oriented "travel writing" position.

Job responsibilities:

 

Track an editorial beat to identify and consistently produce daily news stories Propose, develop and deliver long-form editorial features within the scope of the content beat Report and contribute broader-based business travel articles, research and case studies for special projects Perform other editorial duties like proofreading, copy-editing or posting web stories or social media posts as needed by the managing editor or editor-in-chief Represent BTN at industry conference and potentially moderate conference sessions and/or webinars Skill requirements

 

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Experience with editorial software like Adobe InCopy or InDesign Knowledge of online content management systems and/or social media posting services Education & Experience

 

Bachelor's or Master's degree in journalism or related concentration 3+ years experience in a business publication or newsroom environment.
