Biohabitats is seeking a part-time, paid Social Media Intern for the Spring 2019 semester. In this role, you will work closely with the Creative Director and Senior Writer, learning and assisting with a variety of assignments, helping to advance our mission and brand by expanding and engaging our audience via social media platforms. Minimum 20 hours per week with occasional attendance at off-site events. 


  • Help contribute and implement social media strategy and marketing campaigns  
  • Maintain social media calendar  
  • Create content (marketing, editorial, and social) 
  • Remain consistent and on-brand by writing in the company’s voice 
  • Monitor and engage the audience across all social channels 
  • Monitor social analytics to identify trends and growth opportunities  
  • Conduct research and analysis of competitive or similar social channels/strategies  
  • Suggest new ways to attract prospective clients and partners
  • Stay up-to-date with technical changes in all social platforms

Required Skills:  

  • Currently attending an accredited college/university with a focus on Social Media and/or Marketing  
  • In-depth knowledge of social networking platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) 
  • Strong writing, grammar, and overall communication skills 
  • Ability to recognize and analyze online trends 
  • Creative thinker, self-starter 

Helpful Skills:  

  • Photoshop and photo-editing 
  • Video editing  
  • Some experience growing audiences
