  • Support Senior Director and VP of Ad Sales Insights & Measurement in the creation of detailed analyses, reports, presentations, and marketing/sales materials covering NBCU’s Sports properties – on NBC (Olympics, NFL-Sunday Night Football, NHL, French Open, Triple Crown, Notre Dame football, PGA TOUR), NBC Sports Network (NHL, Olympic trials, Premier League, Tour de France IndyCar, college sports including football, basketball, and ice hockey), Golf Channel (PGA TOUR, Open Championship, Ryder Cup, President’s Cup, LPGA), and the Olympic Channel
  • Utilize both syndicated and custom research tools to effectively position various NBC Sports
  • Drive cross media insights and generate actionable insights on the sports fan
  • Analyze user behavior, create, maintain key reports, dashboards and analyses utilizing web analytics tools
  • Deliver proof of advertiser campaign performance presentations to clients
  • Ability to train team members in advanced analytics reporting techniques.
  • Utilize both syndicated and custom research tools to effectively position NBC Sports linear and digital properties and develop ROI analysis, communicate the value of NBC Sports and Olympic ad environment
  • Explore and evaluate new metrics, advise and execute sales strategies to achieve NBCU revenue goals
  • Well versed in data hygiene/QA methods related to digital advertising campaign measurement and implementation processes, solid understanding of IAB standards
  • Monitor trends in sports media and sponsorship space (TV rights fees; multi-platform marketing and consumption; marketplace consolidation; etc.) across trades, publications, and other industry sources
  • Ability to train team members from interns to analysts across research tools
  • Collaborate across NBCU Insights & Measurement team to deliver on organizational needs
  • Key clients: Sales, Marketing, Pricing & Planning, Sales Operations

  • Qualifications

    • Four year degree (B.A., B.S.) from an accredited college or university, preferably in Media, Communications, Marketing, Economics/Finance, Math, Statistics, Psychology, or related field
    • Minimum of five years in media research with a broadcast or cable network, advertising agency or media research provider
    • Solid understanding of ad sales process and needs
    • Proven knowledge of Nielsen systems (NNTV, NPower, Ad Intel, TV Brand Effect, Arianna, Nielsen Social, NBI/NCS), Gfk/MRI, Adobe Analytics, comScore, Google Analytics and Millward Brown Digital. Prior experience with Lake5 a plus
    • Intimate knowledge of Media Math and Digital KPIs
    • Must be well versed in Microsoft Word and an expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • Prior experience with Domo, Tableau, R, Python, SPSS, SAS a plus

    • Excellent research and analytical skills– Ability to structure analysis and correctly interpret data to create a compelling narrative that accurately address the business challenge at hand
    • Experience with big data/ complex analyses including Nielsen/Adobe segmentations, and work with custom research projects (ad effectiveness, sponsorship ROI analysis)
    • An exceptional ‘storyteller’ who has the ability to analyze, interpret and visualize data with client needs in mind
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure, set priorities, handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
    • Strong oral and written communication skills, including being comfortable presenting
    • Solid interpersonal and communication skills, experience in client-facing role
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Leadership and management experience a plus
