Role Purpose
The Assistant Manager of Product Development will assist with the day-to-day operations of the digital product team. The ideal candidate will engage with research, project management, development, customer service, editorial, design, and others to help take a product, project and integration from conception to reality.

  • Assist with the day-to-day management across NBC Sports, NBC Regional Sports Networks, and NBC Olympics digital products, including connected, mobile applications and live streaming video efforts
  • Identify new opportunities to optimize NBC Sports app across platforms based on analytics and customer feedback
  • Monitor and analyze product performance data and provide reporting and insights on relevant KPI metrics
  • Translate product strategy into detailed user stories/requirements
  • Perform day-to-day coordination and quality assurance of connected, mobile products and live streaming video
  • Ensure the successful implementation of products and services, including prioritization of features and functionality
  • Conduct comparative analysis of digital strategies and products of competitors and industry leaders
  • Research emerging technologies and social media trends
  • Demonstrate a knowledge and interest in sports, and how they’re covered in the digital media space

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in digital media
  • At least one (1) year experience in digital product management
  • Experience working with content management systems such as Drupal and Wordpress
  • Proven record of successfully delivering quality digital products while working with multiple initiatives and deadlines
  • Understanding and dissemination of analytics
  • Strong analytical approach
  • Knowledge of analytic and project management tools such as Omniture and JIRA

Additional Qualifications
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to reduce ambiguity with attention to detail
  • Experience with APIs and/or customer-facing hardware platforms
  • Experience using Balsamiq, Visio or other similar drawing tools
  • Ability to transform business, editorial and design needs into product requirements
  • Familiarity with all web and mobile platforms, including Apple iOS, Android, and Connected TV devices
  • Knowledge of web and mobile standards, best practices, design and usability principles
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
