American Media is looking for an experienced print designer for its teen and girls’ publications. The candidate will be responsible for designing layouts for multiple titles (often at the same time) at an efficient pace in a creative and collaborative manor. The ideal hire would be someone who knows pop culture and has an eye for kids’ style. This highly creative individual will work closely with the Creative Directors to understand the distinctive style of each magazine.

The graphic designer must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. He/she should be able to transition easily from title to title, making sure each publication follows its set style. With trends constantly changing, he/she should welcome the opportunity work work in a team environment and embrace change. This person should be organized and have a sharp eye for detail.  

Responsibilities include:

Creating layouts for each publication

Developing materials and graphics for a wide variety of uses

Communicating fluidly with all departments

Packaging documents and prepping for production

Brainstorming new ideas and executing them from start to finish

Required skills:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field

3+ years professional experience

Excellent skills and professional experience in Adobe creative suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

Basic HTML & CSS skills

Creative mindset and strong conceptual abilities

An eye for color and imagery

K4 is a plus
