Essential Responsibilities:Work with managing editor to develop growth-focused editorial strategies that will drive video views (on and off-platform), social media engagement, and site traffic. Must be able to then spearhead and execute these goals.Work with the managing editor to develop growth strategies off-platform including: YouTube, Hulu, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Must be able to then spearhead and execute these goals.Work with managing editor to identify new ways to create content that will make the Access brand competitive within the entertainment news space Oversee digital editorial team and assign editorial stories throughout the day. Maintain the 24/7 content schedule and breaking news environment Copyedit digital video scripts and editorial copy for grammar, tone, punctuation, structure and style Spearhead coverage of a breaking/developing news story both editorially and logisticallyEffectively research, coordinate & implement coverage of breaking news & on-going storiesLead coverage on long-lead editorial stories, develop content plans for larger events Be able to quickly write and edit stories where needed Closely work with correspondents and producers in gathering story elements for use on all platformsHelp editors develop their stories and improve their overall product by working with them to identify key elements of a story, locate the best elements to tell a story via UGC or video content we already own and publicly accessible materialsMust be able to source news on a variety of social media platforms and track trendsBuild and maintain a network with publicists and agents Consistently monitor social media sites & digital news outletsFind and pitch story ideas, identify key trends Maintain the editorial schedule for digital shoots, red carpets and interviews. Work with managing editor to ensure all branded entertainment, integrated posts get executed Must be able to effectively communicate with both managing editor and other staff members about where stories are at Must be able to handle the distribution of content, syndication of content

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four year accredited college or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience producing content for digital platforms, news desk or assignment editor experience preferred
  • Research experience using digital platforms
  • Working knowledge of common broadcast news transmission tools and how to work within a broadcast and digital environment
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours and under tight deadline pressure with the understanding that the work schedule and location can change with little advance warning
  • Must be able to set an editorial strategy and execute tied to growth goals
  • Work with Managing Editor to improve editorial schedule and structure to increase productivity
