Editors are our storytellers, crafting the content that fulfills an executive client’s purpose/goal. The editor works within a team to produce several magazines, and helps the team to manage the growth of voice, editorial structure, content diversification, and brand development for each of the team’s brands.

 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with fellow editors, photo editors, and designers to create effective products,
  • Leads freelance writers to create effective products
  • Meets all publication deadlines, macro and micro
  • Effectively and efficiently edits all content according to Chicago Manual of Style and in-house style guides, with 20 published errors or fewer each cycle
  • Collaborates with clients to create effective and custom editorial solutions
  • Continually improves the editorial vision of the magazines so that they effectively engage their target audiences
  • Collaborates with the CAM team to drive processes for engaging past, current, and future clients
  • Ensures the freelance writing budget is maintained
  • Effectively handles client-facing communication with an attention to customer service
  • Maintains relationships with guest editors
  • Complies with established company work rules, policies, and procedures
  • Actively engages with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies, and reduce cost
  • Cooperatively takes on other duties, roles, or responsibilities as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field
  • At least two years of editorial experience at a publication
  • A demonstrated ability to generate creative ideas in an environment of aggressive growth
  • Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style
  • Excellent editing skills
