Directs, develops and coordinates NBC Connecticut and Telemundo Connecticut’s relations with local communities in the DMA. Coordinates and executes strategies and programs to achieve positive and productive relations between duopoly and the community. Ensures planning and scheduling is coordinated with News for talent participation and news coverage for all events. Plans and executes special events which serve to advance the station’s community brand. Works directly with members of the public and specific community groups on projects that enhance the image of the stations. Partners with other businesses in the community to sponsor community events. Includes Sales Account Managers, where applicable, for sponsorship opportunities. Ensures duopoly position as exclusive media partner for events in which we participate. Acts as liaison staff member with affiliated community organizations. Promotes station’s programs and image through personal contact with business, industry and community leaders. Manage Snow Monster appearances, SWAG and community presence. Work directly with First Alert Weather team for school appearances. Schedule and travel to local events, lead logistics and on site activation. Primary lead for Snow Monster SWAG. Ensures that NBC Connecticut’s social media accounts are engaging and timely sources of the station’s participation in the community. Execute brand and station initiative information and content on social media and digital platforms as well as assisting talent with social strategy and posts.
The Community and Special Events Producer is responsible for the execution of station events and external partnerships that benefit Connecticut’s communities, local businesses and NBC Connecticut/Telemundo Connecticut. The successful candidate will be a brand ambassador connecting the community to our duopoly through station initiatives, Snow Monster appearances and social media campaigns. This role will be scheduled for evenings and weekends.
Required weekend and evening schedule. Ability to work any of a 24/7 shift, holidays, weekends
Experience in Social Media platforms, such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Must have the ability to work any of a 24 x 7 shift
Must have a valid driver’s license
Physical requirements required to perform medium/heavy physical work which includes: Lifting and carrying remote location equipment (pop up tents, boxes of promotional material, etc.) ranging from 15 pounds to 30 pounds
Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
Must be 18 years or older.
Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
Proficient in Photoshop, Premiere, Excel, PowerPoint
