SUMMARY:
Join an innovative group driving the future of news products for the next generation of news consumers. Help us by providing analysis and insights into the behavior of news consumers across digital platforms. Partner with editorial, product, technology and business development to track the performance of key initiatives. Share data-based insights and analysis throughout the organization with regular reports, dashboards and presentations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Be a trusted data resource for the organization
  • Provide insights into user behavior, consumption patterns, content and product performance
  • Think big and look for new ways to understand our audiences to estimate and anticipate user behavior and content consumption
  • Provide expert analysis on digital trends within the news and media industry
  • Oversee regular reports, dashboards and presentations for editorial and management
  • Manage day to day data requests from departments across the organization
  • Help define and track progress towards goals for new initiatives
  • Be a mentor and leader on the team and within the organization


  • • 6+ years’ experience in digital analytics or media research and insights
    • A knack for teasing out insights, takeaways and “ah-hah”s from data and metrics for senior level executives
    • Extraordinary attention to detail
    • A critical thinking sensibility
    • Excellent analytical skills
    • Superior communication, presentation and organizational skills
    • BA/BS or MS degree in a quantitative area of study or media/communications related (Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science or Media/Communications)
    • Experience with web, video and social analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, comScore, Social Bakers, etc.)
    • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or DOMO
    • Fully proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    • Experience with SQL or other data manipulation languages
    • Exceptional work ethic and positive attitude
    • Strong time management and prioritization skills
    • A natural curiosity and thirst for understanding
    • Understanding of media business overall and the news competitive set
