The Steadicam Operator will provide consistent and high quality Steadicam camera operation for all Golf Channel studio productions.
Responsibilities:
Steadicam operator on assigned studio productions in the studio.
Work with Director on developing creative ways to integrate and use Steadicam for Golf Channel studio produced shows
Work with Technical Director, and Video Engineer to ensure cameras are set up & faxed. This includes verifying back-focus, tallies & camera returns
Interface with the Engineering department regarding equipment maintenance issues
Maintain Steadicam rig while suggesting improvements and new technologies
Lend creative input to Production staff where appropriate to enhance production value.
Assist in any studio lighting changes or prop alterations as necessary
Work with Stage Manager & other studio personnel to keep studio clean and organized
Fill in for studio pedestal, hand held, and jimmy jib camera operations for all live studio broadcasts or tapings
Possess intimate knowledge of all studio equipment, sets and technologies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Degree in Communications is preferred
1+ year Steadicam experience at a network level, specializing in studio shows is preferred
1+ year camera experience for live broadcasts
Lighting and Stage Managing experience is desirable
Excellent interpersonal & communications skills required
Strong work ethic, positive attitude & leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities a must
Ability to work in fast paced, high pressure environment
Willing to work flexible hours including holidays, nights, and weekends
Punctual, regular and consistent attendance
Ability to carry 75lbs for up to 30 minutes at a time
Must be willing to work in Orlando, FL
