NBC and Telemundo Owned Stations is seeking a manager to oversee the Consumer Investigative Center. This is a unique opportunity to impact local communities and address concerns of viewers through managing a large staff of producers. This role reports into the VP, News KXTX with accountability into News and Standards leadership at NBC and Telemundo Owned Stations.
Seeking a hands-on Consumer Investigative Manager/Producer to join our NBC and Telemundo Consumer Investigative Center
Manage the day to day operations of the Consumer Investigative Center. Consumer Hotline Producers at the center research, refer and mediate consumer viewer complaints.
Oversee the daily workload of consumer hotline producers, including scheduling and ensuring that all viewer calls are responded to by the center.
Work closely with NBC and Telemundo News and Standards management as well as stations’ editorial staff to assure highest level of integrity.
Manage and develop personnel, make hiring decisions and establish performance goals and guidelines
Oversee the evaluation and performance appraisal of consumer hotline producers Coach and develop staff to work and grow in a positive environment
Foster a positive and supportive environment that promotes diversity and inclusion
Work with local station management in the effective use of resources and synergies in managing operations to develop standards and processes for optimal performance
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Previous experience partnering with internal legal teams and working knowledge of federal, state and local laws impacting operations as they relate to research, investigations and undercover news content
Must be bilingual (English and Spanish )

Must be willing to work in Fort Worth, TX near the DFW airport and able to travel as needed
Must be willing to work extended hours, overtime, on weekends, and any shift (including nights, weekends and holidays) as assigned
Must be bilingual (English and Spanish ) Must be able to speak, read, and write in Spanish and English
Must be 18 years or greater
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must accept Solutions as NBCUniversal’s Alternative Dispute Resolution program
Minimum 5 years experience in television broadcast focus
Experience managing a team of at least five members
Strong CAR (Computer Assisted Reporting) skills
Basic understanding and demonstration of creativity, news producing or reporting, with consumer/investigative editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws
Strong computer research skills and working knowledge of analyzing data
Knowledge of undercover investigation techniques
Proactive think/self-starter with attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills: Must be energetic, motivated and work well with others
Significant experience in the news environment and strong journalistic skills
A pioneering spirit with desire to learn emerging technologies and invent the future
Passionately develops and presents story ideas
