Creative thinker who will be responsible for creating innovative and compelling content that differentiates our work for our competitors.The producer should have strong writing and storytelling skills, be an exceptional researcher and be extremely well organized with a knack for logistics.The producer will be responsible for researching, writing, editing, producing and gathering investigative content for both broadcast and digital on NBC Boston and NECN, and will work closely with management, editorial staff, and a team of experienced investigative reporters.NBC Boston is looking for a hands-on investigative producer that will perform undercover work and surveillance as necessary.Candidate should have field producing experience and be a strong interviewer.
NBC Universal’s Owned and Operated Television station in the Boston area, NBC Boston, is looking for an Investigative Producer.
Minimum of 3 years experience in investigative newsgathering and production in a Top 20 market
Minimum of 3 years experience writing, producing and editing on a desktop editing system
The producer should have working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws impacting operations as they relate to the investigation, undercover content, and hidden cameras. Experience partnering with the legal team is a plus.
CAR (Computer Assisted Reporting) skills including expertise in Excel and other data tools
Experience using social media platforms for sharing news content and interacting with viewers.

Must be 18-years-old or older
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Basic understanding and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws
Basic understanding and demonstration of multi-media file formats and related computer skills
Strong computer research skills, and working knowledge of analyzing data
Strong understanding of using open records laws to obtain government documents and databases
Knowledge of undercover investigation techniques
Significant experience in the news environment and strong journalistic skills
Ability to write, edit and produce under heavy deadline pressure without compromising accuracy or credibility
Creatively deliver news as it develops on all current and future platforms
