Business Intelligence Manager

The team member is responsible for building, updating, and continually refining a series of automated dashboards and reporting to provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly views of client performance against a standard set of client performance metrics and KPIs. While the role is primarily internal facing, the reporting and dashboards created by the Specialist will be leveraged by team members within client presentations, meetings, and made available to them on a consistent basis. Inherent in this is a broad level understanding of the various Cox Automotive products and solutions and key automotive performance metrics, and how to visualize Cox performance metrics into usable information for the Account Team and the client.
It’s critical the Specialist is able to develop an in-depth knowledge of our data structure and business rules to deploy repeatable reporting solutions. In order to accomplish this, the Specialist will need to interface directly with cross functional partners in Value Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Data Enablement teams to ensure alignment on strategy and efficient / consistent use of data sources and tools. Success in the role is ultimately defined by the degree to which solutions leading to improved timely flow of data and actionable insights are implemented. This role reports directly to the Senior Manager of Client Analytics within EDP.
This role has the following responsibilities:
- On a monthly basis, proactively gather and synthesize both client and Cox Automotive data across specific areas of the client’s business, highlighting client performance against agreed upon performance metrics and industry KPIs as part of standard dashboards and reporting.
Arm client facing team members with monthly, quarterly, and annual performance data that can be leveraged to make performance recommendations during client conversations and face to face meetings.
Identify relevant data sources from within Cox Auto and from the client to feed analytical models and performance reporting.
Seek out new ways to leverage client and Cox Automotive data to unlock value and performance recommendations for dealer group clients of Cox Automotive and convert into standard performance dashboards and reporting.
Build-out standard dashboards and reports to address client and internal needs, leveraging AWS environment and any code/logic that currently exists.
Deliver insightful analyses, quickly and accurately, on a just-in-time basis to meet monthly data production targets.
Summarizing / translating complex technical concepts into simple communications / client stories, including effective visualization.
Partnership with analytic peers across Cox Automotive to deliver a seamless view of client and Cox Automotive performance across a specific book of business.
Manage a backlog of requests, prioritize and escalate work accordingly using a logical and methodical process.
Communicate requests to business owners at a proper level, using a combination of data-based and visual story telling (PowerPoint, Excel, Tableau, SFDC Einstein / Wave Analytics, charts, graphs, tables, etc.)
Continuous learning and training to stay up to speed on the latest industry trends and data analytic innovations including capabilities to translate metrics into usable client insights.
This individual will have:
An ability to draw connections between data metrics and potential business drivers.
Quantitative experience and ability to build and display Excel models to highlight client and Cox Automotive performance.
Passion for and understanding of the automotive industry and ecosystem
Understanding of the Cox Automotive product offerings and key metrics associated with each solution.
Solid understanding of the Client Engagement Model
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s Degree required in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or like discipline;
5 or more years direct experience with analytics, reporting, data mining, advanced analytical modeling, and data visualization.
Technology consulting experience preferred
Experience with SQL, Python, Alteryx, and Tableau desired
Demonstrated ability to understand and influence business partners
Demonstrated ability to explain complex concepts using reporting and data visualization tools
Demonstrated ability to be successful within a fast pace, complex, matrixed environment
Up to 15% travel requirement
