Cox Communications is looking for a dynamic individual for the position of Director, Video Product Content Delivery within the Product Management and Development organization.  The person in this role will work closely with a cross-functional team to deliver a range of advanced video services to our customers.   This individual will be responsible for overseeing the product integration and management, technical assessment, cross product integration, product and operational improvements for the video content  experience for all platforms.  The successful candidate will engage with key cross functional stakeholders within Cox to help build and improve upon all video offerings. 

 

A successful candidate will have proven ability to lead teams, both directly and cross-functionally, in a complex matrix organization, build strong collaborative relationships, communicate effectively and “get things done” quickly and efficiently.  We are looking for a strategic thinker, with experience developing, presenting, and gaining support for their business proposals.  He/she should have experience in, or working closely with application development, engineering, operating/business support systems, content acquisition and providers as this experience will serve as the foundation for successful implementation of the video road map and strategy. He/she should also have a strong technical aptitude with experience in telecom, software development, or technology consulting.  He/she will be responsible for overseeing product development, product integration, technical assessments, management of vendor relationships, and operational excellence in the full ecosystem of video content delivery and management to our customers.  

 

An ability to clearly and effectively communicate and collaborate across all functional areas of the company will be vital to the success of the person in this role.   Key boundary partners in this role include Marketing, Customer Care, Field Services, Technology, Finance, Corporate Strategy as well as the lead product managers for video, broadband and homelife. 


Key Responsibilities :

 

•Leverage consumer insights to deliver best in class video experience.
•Lead cross functional team charged with delivery of video enhancements and support.  
•Manage video content integration and lifecycle, product requirements and technical specifications.
•Define product requirements/roadmap based on consumer research and optimizing operational efficiency.
•Coordinate performance benchmarking, product pilots, trials, and the launch of product features and functionality.
•Analyze video product trends to identify product and consumer pain points and work with boundary partners and external partners on solutions to resolve.
•Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely flow of information to boundary partners and their tools.
•Serves as the primary interface with internal and external technologist working on the development of video and video lifecycle and technical support tools for residential customers.
•Develop and implement metrics and communication plans to document the progress of individual projects against key milestones.
•Responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of new services and service enhancements.
•Ensure the successful completion of the product development process, on time and within budget.
•Assist with the development of 3rd party vendor requirements for new products.
•Manage vendor SLAs.
•Work with vendor partners to develop new products and product enhancements

 

Qualifications: 

Requirements:

 

•Ability to identify consumer needs and preferences and merge with technological and operational capabilities to define a product roadmap. 
•5+ years demonstrated leadership skills to achieve desired business goals while ensuring a positive, employee focused working environment.
•Excellent communicator with 5+ years’ experience presenting complex information to senior level executives. Must be able to concisely convey complex issues or ideas in a clear, organized manner both verbally, and in writing and with strong PowerPoint skills. 
•5+ years’ prior experience leading cross functional teams.
•Demonstrated ability to articulate trade-offs and prioritize initiatives backed by solid financial business cases.
•Ability to coach and mentor team members while also having the fortitude to evaluate skills objectively and honestly providing direct feedback to employees and adjusting organizational accountabilities as necessary.
•Strategic thinker with knowledge of the MVPD marketplace and ability to develop long term plans that deliver on consumer needs while leveraging Cox assets to strengthen competitive positioning.
•Excellent analytical skills.  Must be able to use and make connections across data and analytics coming from various sources to glean key insights that help drive business decisions.  Deep understanding of financial drivers with experience developing and selling business cases in a medium-large company.
•Demonstrated ability to lead deployments of new products/services or complex projects from the ideation stage to deployment.
•Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure, dynamic environment with quickly evolving priorities across a broad range of functional areas.
•Highly self-motivated and results-oriented: can work and operate with latitude using his/her independent judgment, within operational parameters.  Takes responsibility and has a sense of urgency to act upon “what needs to be done”, informing and involving his/her manager as needed.
•Must be able to build and maintain good working relationships across cross-functional partners.  Facilitates agreement, socializes proposals, and gain commitment from partners to support ideas, strategy and take action. 
•Strong time management and prioritization skills with a demonstrated ability to execute against multiple projects and succeed in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

•7+ years of experience in related Technology field (Consumer Electronics, Software, Technology, Telecom, and Media).
•3+ Years of product management or complex project management experience.
•Experience as a people leader
•Must have proven ability to: resolve conflicts, confront issues and drive to resolution, manage third party business relationships, and manage geographically distributed project teams.
•Self- starter motivated by goals of project and challenges of a rapid roll-out.
•Well-honed written and verbal communication skills.  Strong executive presence.
•Demonstrated ability to perform in high pressure, matrix management environment
•Strong data analysis skills
•Solid financial and business acumen 


Preferred Qualifications :

 

•Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field (e.g. Business, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, etc.).
•MBA desired.
•Previous Product Management strongly preferred
•Experience in a role with vendor management responsibilities.
•Experience formulating/managing strategic partnerships.
•Experience managing quality assurance testing or managing product trails.
