Cox Automotive Media Group is looking for a talented Product Manager for our Ad Product team, focused on AutoTrader.com. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the online advertising industry and technology, along with consumerand advertiser needs and challenges. They will be managing digital advertising products that are sold primarily to automotive manufacturers, dealer groups, and auto-related categories, such as finance and insurance. Leveraging unique advertising products, our goal is to match the right buyers with the right sellers while making the process of buying and selling a car easier.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
Strategy
  • Identifying market opportunities and client needs
  • Evaluating the competitive landscape
  • Defining product roadmaps to communicate the vision of the product and upcoming investments
  • Creating business cases to secure funding for the roadmap
Execution
  • Work directly with user experience design, engineering, ad operations,sales, product marketing, and external vendors to take ad products from inception to delivery
  • Identifying key use cases and KPI’s for the products
  • Leading market tests and pilots
  • Working with cross-functional teams to release and launch products
Evaluation
  • Analyze advertising metrics to make ongoing improvements to existing products and provide recommendations on future concepts
  • Understanding the sales performance of a product, who’s buying and why
  • Monitoring and communicating product profitability
  • Ensuring products are delivering expected value to clients
The role is responsible for overall product success as measured by revenue growth (short and long-term), customer and consumer satisfaction/loyalty, adoption, and product performance. Up to 15% travel is expected to spend enough time with clients to develop a keen understanding of their needs. We are seeking hard working, intelligent problem solvers that have a strong natural curiosity for the world. Ideal candidates will be trustworthy leaders that can clearly communicate a vision so that people follow them because they want to, not because they have to.Qualifications:

•  College Degree (BA/BS, or advanced degree)

•  3-5 years of experience in Product Management or Business Development related positions

• Successful candidates will have experience with;

   o Identifying market opportunities

   o Developing and launching new products or features

   o Developing market assessments and business cases

   o Identifying strategic partnerships

   o Developing concept and product definitions

   o Product positioning and launching new products

• Strong personal skills, ability to build trust with teams and clients quickly

• Excellent written, presentation and listening skills

• Strong problem solving experience

• We prefer experience in one or more of the following areas

  o Digital Media/Advertising

  o Mobile Monetization

  o Automotive Industry

• Experience and understanding of the automotive ecosystem including OEMs, Dealers and Certified Pre-Owned is a plus.
