Responsibilities:
As a late shift Associate Producer for the TODAY show, you will be responsible for pitching, developing, and partnering with producers to turn news of day pieces for next day air.
Assist with producing original news content, primarily for broadcast, including research, conducting interviews, writing and editing scripts, field producing and shootingGather visual elements and assist with editing for segment productionRole is expected to both pitch story ideas and work on assigned stories developed by the editorial teamWork with Standards & Legal Team to ensure editorial standards of all segments

Basic Qualifications:
• Must have at least 3 years’ editorial experience working in production
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree
• DV shooting experience
• Knowledge of non-linear editing systems including Avid
• Must have strong journalistic writing skills, research skills, and editorial judgment
• Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news and current events
• Strong interpersonal skills and storytelling ability

• Required to work Sunday through Thursday 4pm – 12am (overnight in the capacity of assisting Crash Producers)
• Must be willing to work overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends, often with short notice
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news
• Must be able to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift with little or no notice, if needed
