The Social Creative Assistant will be responsible for tracking and organizing the creative concepts coming out of Comedy Central’s social creative team.  This includes distributing assignments, organizing pitch ideas, working in a “writer’s room” environment, distributing production information and managing various paperwork and expense reporting. This position serves as a contributing team member to producers who are determining strategic and creative directions for social digital initiatives. This role reports directly into Sr. Creative Director, Social Content, Viacom Digital Studios: Comedy Central.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working collaboratively within a large, multi-layered organization. He/she will work closely with many support groups within the department and elsewhere in Comedy Central. The ability to maintain relationships and communicate effectively with constituents in Comedy Central’s Brand Creative, Development, Video Production, Social and Marketing teams is essential.


Primary responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate production and brainstorming meetings
  • Maintain schedules, timelines and various documents to support the group
  • Take detailed notes, organize it as needed into various tracking documents, identify next steps and relay assignments and deadlines to several digital creative groups
  • Use deep understanding of social creative initiatives to help optimize workflow, prioritize objectives and delegate tasks
  • File various paperwork and assist with Concur expense reports
  • Help coordinate and maintain various content slate documents with different statuses across all stages of production
  • Support the Sr. Creative Director, Social Content in planning and producing social content



Additional responsibilities:

  • Understand digital strategy and communicating decisions to the day-to-day team players
  • Work with team members and assigned manager to help improve process, workflow, documentation, and tools to ensure they are upheld and/or improved to department standards
  • Provide pre-production and on-set assistance as needed
  • Support the social creative team who manages and determines social digital creative, strategy, and execution as set forth by the VP, Social Strategy, Sr. Creative Director and senior executives

Required Qualifications/Skills

  • 2-3 years of digital content creative experience or “writer’s room” environment at a major commercial media, entertainment or creative brand or interactive agency
  • Understanding of the video/content production life-cycle
  • Knowledge of project management ticketing systems and technical specs a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Familiarity with the Comedy Central brand and series a plus
  • Experience with working with teams who create experiences that drive engagement on social media
  • Intimate familiarity with YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and other major social networks, including their admin tools
  • Working knowledge and understanding of digital technologies, such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, CMS tools, Google Drive, Slack and more
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Ability to multi-task on several projects at once
