The ideal candidate is a gifted wordsmith and tireless idea generator who is eager to collaborate with our writers, designers, art directors, creative director and internal account teams throughout all stages of the creative process.
Assignments will include: brand writing and naming; digital marketing (social media, mobile ads, emails, websites and blogs); marketing materials, native stories and outdoor media; print, TV and radio advertising, to name a few. The successful candidate will possess a curious mind, a creative streak, a knowledge of culture that is both deep and wide, and a passion for words and hard work.
70% Ideation + Content
Duty: Creates high-quality creative content and generates big ideas that help win business and routinely delight clients
Task 1: Understands research and how consumer insights need to shape and inform all big ideas and content messaging
Task 2: Understands target audiences and how to translate copy and design into compelling creative
Task 3: Understands the concept behind creative work and how it achieves client and business goals
Task 4: Ideates to come up with a high quantity of high-quality big ideas for client and B2B needs
Task 5: Writes the bulk of copy required for fulfillment of client assignments
20% Strategic Thinking
Duty: Understands the strategic thinking needed to assist in developing brand campaigns by working with the internal team (Creative Director, Art Director, Account Manager, creative team, New Business team) to define original concept, create a target audience and begin creative process
Task 1: Reads and understands creative briefs
Task 2: Communicates and collaborates with members of the internal team
Task 3: Pitches concept ideas to internal team members
10% Quality Control
Duty: Ensures error-free copy in all client work and agency self-promotional work
Task 1: Proofs copy with an eye toward spelling, grammar and punctuation perfection
Task 2: Able to take direction and feedback and shape work to reflect feedback
Task 3: Works at the speed of business and client needs with few to no errors
Task 4: Managing day-to-day changes at every level of detail
Task 5: Exceptional eye for detail and desire for perfection
Qualifications:Education: Degree in advertising, English, communications, journalism or related field
Experience: At least 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in an agency setting. Experience working on creative presentations and preparing creative themes and taglines for client approval.
Additional Requirements: Exceptional writing, editing and proofing skills with demonstrated experience in conceptual writing in marketing or advertising, digital, product, brand messaging and promotional copy. Strong presentation and verbal communication skills.
