WNBC is looking for a photojournalist, non-linear editor, and truck operator proficient with microwave and streaming technologies. Candidate should be familiar with P2 workflow and Adobe Premiere or similar professional news gathering equipment. Must have a proven track record shooting and editing compelling stories and breaking news in a fast paced, live TV deadline driven environment.

  • Covering news in NYC/New Jersey/Long Island/Connecticut
  • Recording news events and streaming/feeding live back to the station
  • Shooting well-lit and composed interactive live shots
  • Understand and practice ethical journalism
  • Gather news facts and create compelling stories with or without a reporter
  • Operate live trucks
  • Work under strict deadlines
  • Gather distribute media to multiple platforms
  • Carry an assortment of equipment weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.

  • Qualifications/ Requirements

  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a large TV news market
  • Proficient at properly lighting live shots a must
  • Monitoring audio and using the appropriate mic depending on the situation
  • Using good judgement in a chaotic environment, dealing with the public
  • Always utilizing safe practices and maintaining situational awareness
  • Available to work weekends, various shifts and overtime on short notice
  • Willing to work any shift needed
  • Willing to travel
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Follow and adhere to all NBC EHS requirements
  • Must join NABET, Natl. Assoc. of Broadcast Employees and Technicians

    Eligibility Requirements
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Interested candidate must submit a resume/CV through to be considered.
  • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
