The PA will help to support associate producers, producers and executive producers across multiple show hours with video, graphics and writing. The PA must also be able to quickly pull elements and order graphics while on-air and during breaking news situations.
The bulk of the job:
Work closely with Associate Producers and Producers by assisting them to pull elements, research, write and fact check strong editorial copy with speed and accuracy in a fast-paced environment for assigned storiesAssist in organizing logistics for production needs, including location, props, travel, etc. Coordinate and schedule meetings and logistics for team as requestedPitch smart and engaging stories for daily and future segments that will resonate with our audienceKeep a constant eye on show rundowns to make sure our video and graphics are in place, accurate and currentHelp and assist by coordinating media coverage and logistics during breaking news and across feature storiesMine and edit the best video and sound for assigned stories
• You’ve been working in broadcast, digital or cable, including internships, for at least 2 years
• You’ve got an interest in current events, U.S. politics, and pop culture
• You’re familiar with the process of searching video and how to edit
• You have a Bachelor’s degree
• Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
• You are willing to work in New York, New York
