HBO Licensing & Retail, a division of Home Box Office, Inc., partners with best-in-class licensees around the world to give HBO’s global audience new and exciting ways to engage with their favorite shows by creating branded consumer product and offering them for sale around the world. The Manager, E-Commerce role will report to the Director of E-Commerce and be responsible for the day-to-day operations and promotion of the dedicated HBO Online Shop & Amazon storefronts. We are looking for a detail-oriented problem solver, with a customer first mentality that will help drive revenue & extend the HBO brand in the e-commerce space.



  • Marketing

    • Oversee the development of the digital site placement & email deployment calendar

    • Oversight of marketing partner and their performance marketing channels (affiliates, SEO, SEM, re-targeting, etc.)

    • Liaise and influence internal & external partners to collaborate in cross-channel site promotion (i.e.: Social, PR, broadcast, etc.)

    • Review, traffic and ensure on schedule delivery of all site, email, social & other marketing creative; and that it meets the HBO brand guidelines and standards

    • Be aware of new licensed product coming to market to help guide product assortment

    • Be aware of the current site inventory & assortment (in/out/pre-sale) for clear customer messaging in marketing plans

  • Analytics & Reporting

    • Review and identify potential category/product gaps on a quarterly basis, identify new categories/products that could be impactful for sales. In addition, identify areas with product oversaturation and strategies on how to phase out products. Base recommendations on HBO show programming, market trends & research.

    • Monthly review of partner performance marketing metrics

    • Monthly review of any internal campaigns

    • Review site analytics and make recommendations for new target audiences and potential functional enhancements for a better customer experience to drive revenue

    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and e-commerce partner to ensure all customers are receive a superior, premium shopping & customer service experience

    • Work with e-commerce partner to schedule & deploy new features/functionality to site experience

    • QA site product launches and site enhancements as needed

    • Excellent product sensibility and ability to merchandise site in a visually appealing way

    • Oversee special projects as needed (i.e.: physical product development, photoshoots, etc.)

    • Make strategic recommendations as needed for buying certain licensed product & developing new exclusive product

    • Manage the development of exclusive product with the external and internal stakeholder



    Job has a strong coordination and interpersonal element. The position will involve working closely with other functional groups at HBO and with outside partners to implement marketing and e-commerce initiatives. Individual must possess strong organizational/project management skills, strong communication/interpersonal skills, with good merchandising & marketing intuition.  Prior media and online marketing experience in e-commerce needed. Microsoft Office suite knowledge and experience in Google Analytics needed. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, self-directed individual who is eager to learn and is flexible with a bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years relevant experience.
