Group Nine Media is looking for a technical director to join our New York team to help maintain smooth operations of our suite of TV studios and associated facilities and support our production teams with troubleshooting through technical issues within the control room. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

    Check all facilities ready prior to any shoot/live broadcast,
    Perform standard tasks like switch sources via our video routers,
    Provide troubleshooting/assistance on control room systems (lighting/video switching/mixing),
    Work with the infrastructure team to ensure that transmission lines/paths/other feeds are open and prioritized as per shoot requirements.
    Maintain broadcast systems/IDF racks and, when required install/configure new equipment and/or service existing systems.

Minimum Qualifications:  

    2-3 years experience working within a production environment
    Excellent troubleshooting & communication skills,
    Technical knowledge of production tools preferably with Ross Cobalt and/or Tricaster 8000 video switchers, Dante audio networks, SDI & SDI over IP.
    Working knowledge of remote transmission based IP feed services (LiveU, Rendezvous),
    Knowledge of SDI based routing and some knowledge of video over IP (NDI preferable)
    Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

Desired Characteristics:   

    Knowledge of post-production workflows preferable but not required,
    Knowledge of media transfer systems (Aspera/Signiant/FileRunner.etc) preferable but not required,
    Knowledge of record systems (HyperDeck.etc)
    Experience with transcoding/encoding direct to SAN
