Associate Product Manager

Penguin Random House, voted #1 on the Forbes 2018 List of America’s Best Midsize Employers, is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate Associate Product Manager to support our flagship website. In this position, you will serve as the right hand to the Product Owner of penguinrandomhouse.com, and work closely with a cross-functional team that includes design, engineering, data, editorial, metadata, analytics, and marketing.

Responsibilities will grow and change over time depending on the needs of the Product Owner, and there is much opportunity for growth in this role. You will learn about both technical backend systems as well as front-end marketing initiatives. Your focus will include:
* Metadata optimization
* Acquisition strategy
* Retail strategy
* Personalization
* Leveraging insights and analytics in order to continually inform the product development process


Qualifications:
* Either a BA/BS in a technology-oriented field or 1-2 years of product management experience
* Ability to devise product functionality and improvements, and then drive resources to realize that vision
* Passion for understanding emerging technologies as well as discussing existing and proposed software systems
* A desire to work seamlessly as part of a highly collaborative team
* Flexibility to easily change direction and/or find creative solutions as stakeholder requests or issues arise
* Superior attention to deadlines and deliverables—some might call you “relentlessly organized”
* Excellent writing and presentation skills
* Knowledge of SCRUM/agile methodologies a plus
