The Market Vice President leverages a cross-functional view of the business to help ensure our Cox markets provide an exceptional customer experience, meets or exceeds financial and customer targets and engages and motivates employees on behalf of the goals and objectives of the company.


The Market Leader is a business partner, collaborator and contributor to the functional teams’ success in the region.  The Vice President helps solve local issues and enable and support a cohesive team driving business results. The leader provides the organization and functional leaders with key insights and inroads within the region and markets.  In addition, this leader will also serve as an advocate for the local market in order to grow the business.


Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions


  • Ensures alignment between region and center reporting teams by looking cross functionally to keep business together and people connected within Cox markets.
  • Facilitates dialogue among functional leaders through meetings and other means to ensure collaboration and alignment of company efforts within the market.
  • Provides critical input, feedback to ensure that Senior Region leaders stay informed by the competitive, operational and economic realities of the market.
  • Takes accountability for Business Development.
  • Champions Cox Customer Experience and acts as the voice of the customer.
  • Partners with Regional Manager and senior region leaders to help all market-based employees understand what role they play in creating the Cox Experience.
  • Ensures positive employee engagement and labor relations by ensuring that there is open and direct communication with our employees and that the various functions are operating in alignment with the company’s core values.
  • Partners with HR and functional leaders on union avoidance initiatives.
  • Serves as POC for the market when organizing campaigns and efforts occur.
  • Partners with Government and Public Affairs on overall community and regulatory strategy.
  • Serves as the face of the Company through participation in in community, civic, and business organizations. Establish, support, and leverage positive company relationships to grow the business.
  • Informs overall market community and regulatory strategy.
  • Executes the plan designed by Government and Public affairs. 
  • Provides input on performance and potential of leaders residing in the markets.
  • Qualifications:


  • At least ten (10) years of
    broad and varied business, management, and/or business development
    experience in positions with increasingly greater accountability required.

  • BS/BA degree in related
    discipline strongly preferred

  • Advanced degree (MS/MA/MBA)

  • A minimum of eight years of
    experience in a senior leadership role preferred

  • Experience in
    telecommunications industry desired

  • Additional Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal
    communication skills as well as strong presentation skills.

  • Ability to define, monitor and
    analyze information utilizing strong critical thinking skills.

  • History of community

  • Ability to engage, inspire and
    influence at all levels internally and externally.
