Gabellini Sheppard Associates, an internationally renowned architecture and interior design firm, seeks a resourceful, proactive and highly organized individual to join our Marketing team.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work productively in a team or independently focused, and comfortable in a deadline-driven environment. The position requires attention to detail, adept writing and compositional skills, excellent organizational instincts and a talent for graphic design and layout.

The role has a variety of tasks that befit a candidate with curiosity and initiative.  Established reoccurring weekly and monthly tasks are part of the role’s foundational priorities and are expected to be kept current with minimal outside input. Daily tasks are assigned as needed to support new business initiatives and progress communications on these are key.  An ability to stay organized by calendaring time and communicating weekly task lists is essential.  Follow through is essential.

This position reports primarily to the Director of Marketing & Business Development with direct involvement by the Partners and general direction/input from the team to complete tasks.  The candidate should be able to comfortably express themselves and communicate for success with all team members while maintaining professional standards from the onset. The ideal candidate will be forthright and open to feedback to ensure progress in the role.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Maintain awards calendar of preferred industry competitions with submission dates and confirm pertinent events and scheduling with team
  • Prepare awards submissions following prior examples
  • Maintain log of awards and projects submitted/won

Press & Writing.

  • Respond to press inquiries and image requests
  • Maintain database of all pending press, new press mentions and press contacts
  • Write press releases and design narratives for new projects and newsworthy events
  • Collaborate with clients' PR teams on special requests, events and initiatives
  • Assist Partners and team with preparation of guest speaker/panel presentations


  • Update website with all relevant current information: awards, press mentions, newsworthy events, announcements, staff additions and portfolio additions
  • Monitor website KPIs, creating quarterly reports and offering suggestions per insights

Project Database.

  • Maintain project summary database for new project information routinely
  • Capture project contact directories from team into master contacts database routinely

Social Media and Digital Marketing.

  • Maintain & communicate monthly digital marketing content calendar using notes from meetings, information from team, significant upcoming events, etc
  • Create social media posts using content calendar and upload postings on schedule
  • Create monthly Mailchimp campaigns in partnership with the Marketing Director
  • Stay current on new trends and technologies

Portfolio, Brochures, Concept Imagery

  • Quickly learn company portfolio to fluency in order to provide guidance and insight into imagery proposed for RFPs and presentations
  • Update and maintain digital and printed marketing brochures per company formats
  • Create and maintain office marketing displays with new portfolio additions as needed
  • Maintain project portfolio, internal concept image library, archival material
  • Assist with photo shoots; photographer engagement, contracts, & assistance as needed

Business Development Coordination

  • Assist the Marketing Director in scheduling internal and external events, meetings with team members and maintain outreach list of business leads and follow-up
  • Update master contact database with new business contacts routinely
  • Support meetings with potential and existing clients by setting up presentations and monitoring activities for immediate needs as meetings progress
  • Assist preparation of lectures for Parners’ speaking   engagements
  • Attend key meetings, create summary notes and provide insights per personal areas of responsibility for the benefit of the team
  • Assist with industry and company research to support new business efforts
  • Maintain all Project/Marketing/PR files
  • Maintain project portfolio, internal concept image library, archival materials
  • Attend industry events as a professional representative of the firm and send email summaries of events and connections

Project Support.

  • Research of clients, project history, site, market position, inspirations, etc
  • Develop presentations and image boards for clients per company templates
  • Draft project narratives after researching and interviewing team for content
  • Imagery manipulations as needed using Photoshop or similar
  • Assist Office Manager and IT staff as needed operationally


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/PR, Advertising, or Journalism
  • Professional Experience: Architecture, Interior Design, Art History, Marketing/PR
  • Business Software: Proficiency in Excel, Word, CRM
  • Experience: 2-5 years marketing experience with an A&D firm preferred
  • Graphic Design: Proficiency in InDesign and Photoshop with some graphics education preferred.  Degree not required
  • References/Samples: Provide three professional references, writing and presentation samples
