Digiday is looking for a reporter to join its editorial team in New York to cover marketing, advertising, branding and ad agencies.
This is a key position inside the editorial department, and part of a very important and growing coverage area for Digiday. We are looking for a reporter who will break stories about topics like marketers’ relationships with platforms like Facebook and Snapchat; media buying transparency and how brands work with giants like Amazon, as well as cover ad tech and mar tech.
Pitching, reporting and writing features, quick and daily stories that explore how brands and agencies are adapting the fast-moving world of digital advertising for Digiday.com as well as Digiday’s print quarterly, Digiday magazine
Cover how brands -- from legacy giants to newer entrants -- spend money on media, including their relationships with platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.
Build a network of sources within brands and ad agencies to successfully “follow the money” and analyze how this affects how companies operate and invest in advertising
Report and analyze cultural and larger trends in the industry, from work culture to sexual harassment issues inside companies to brand safety and advertising shapes culture
Help shape Digiday’s coverage of marketing
Three to five years of business reporting and writing experience
A willingness to pick up the phone and cultivate a network of sources in the industry
An interest in marketing and advertising and the trends that drive these industries
Role requires final candidate to be in the Digiday New York office five days a week
