Essential Functions (Responsibilities): NBC4 is looking for a show producer to join our News department as the Platform Manager.
Responsible for the production of and overall editorial content for a newscast in addition to other assigned content platforms/shows produced by NBC4, including but not limited to broadcast, digital and web
Select the most compelling and relevant stories and provide vision and guidance for the Content Producers responsible for researching, writing, editing, producing and gathering the content
Works with the production team to ensure smooth and seamless show productions as well as with the editorial team to ensure the most complete and up-to-date local news coverage
Play an active role in the editorial process and advocate for their newscast
Responsible for writing, producing, desktop editing and gathering content for all platforms
Minimum 5 years experience in newsgathering and/or production
Minimum 3 years experience writing and producing
Experience as a news producer in a top 25 market
Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications or equivalent work experience

Must have a flexible schedule with ability to work any of a 24x7 shift and willingness to travel and work long hours and on weekends with short notice
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Significant experience in the news environment and strong journalistic skills
Experience working in the Los Angeles market preferred
Knowledge and understanding of various media platforms, including broadcast, web and mobile
Experience in multi-platform news environment preferred
Experience in desktop editing preferred
Ability to write, edit and produce under heavy deadline pressure without compromising accuracy or
Creatively deliver news as it develops on all current and future platforms
