Publisher of consumer knitting publications seeks a passionate needleworker with excellent verbal and written communications skills to act as liaison among editors, designers, sample knitters and yarn companies. Duties include: sending design calls, preparing contracts for designers and negotiating designer fees; working with editor to choose designs and ordering yarn and notions for fashions to appear in magazines and books; composing resources pages and yarn lists; writing yarn updates for magazines; updating and maintaining yarn-manufacturers’ books; updating various social media sites and pages; assisting at photo shoots as needed; performing miscellaneous administrative duties as requested. Must be an above-average knitter. Must be extremely well organized and able to juggle multiple projects with aplomb. Knowledge of the knitting industry and magazine publishing is very helpful but not essential. This is an in-house position.
