Provide Maintenance Support to our newsroom systems, as well as hands-on design and implementation of new technologies in a 24/7 environment.Evaluate and perform root-cause analysis on escalated issues.Track issues through resolution utilizing issue tracking system.Perform hardware and software installations.Maintain and support WTMO's transmission facilities, ensuring operation in accordance with FCC standards.FCC Operator responsibilities.Monitor and maintenance compliance with all FCC standards such as EAS.Interface with vendors and manufactures to address support issues as well as research and plan future initiatives including budgeting.Effectively lead projects using project management best practices to ensure initiatives are delivered on time and on budget, while balancing varying priorities of simultaneous projects.Have a strong understanding of current server and storage technologies.Provide excellent and timely customer service and support.Ability to maintain standards and compliance, manage change controls, solve complex problems and take actions on decisions.Other duties as deemed necessary.
As a Broadcast Engineer, you will support all production and broadcast areas. The Broadcast Engineer will focus on building, maintaining, and supporting a broadcast and IT infrastructure that includes but is not limited to RF transmission, broadcast equipment, post production, media encoders and software. You will also assist IT in technology implementation and basic support such as hardware and software installations as well as patching. This position is primarily located at our Orlando, Florida station but is part of our Central Florida Technology Team and may be called upon to support our other stations in Tampa as well as Ft. Myers.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or similar, with 5+ years of related experience preferred. Equivalent experience in Broadcast, Digital Media, Post Production or vendor experience considered.
•Experience with digital broadcast transmitters.
•Emergency On-site 365/24/7 Support.
•Basic understanding of AutoCAD.
•Proven ability to read technical documentation and signal flows.
•Must be willing to work in Orlando, Florida.
•Must be willing to travel and support other NBC Universal / Telemundo stations outside standard hours and on weekends with short notice.
•Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
•Must be at least 18 years of age
•Ability to lift and carry 35+ pounds of gear
•Must have a valid driver's license
