Finding reviews from specific outlets and critics to be added to relevant films and television shows.Analyzing and summarizing reviews from professional film and TV criticsUsing an internal CMS to add links to Rotten TomatoesAssist in maintaining a database of active criticsLearn and monitor publishing schedules and habits of external critics and outletsCollaborate with internal teams, freelance writers and third party content vendors Work collaboratively with other members of the Editorial team to make programming decisions
The Review Curator is a key contributor to creating the voice of Rotten Tomatoes and one of the keepers of the Tomatometer – the editorially crafted score for a movie that is the main attraction of our website. This Review Curator is focused on finding and assessing film and TV reviews that will be featured on Rotten Tomatoes.
• BA/BS degree in Mass Communications or Film Studies (or currently studying)
• Excellent writing skills
• Experience with content management systems
• Good time management skills
• Strong oral, writing, and presentation skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Proven ability to work well and be flexible in a fast-moving environment, managing multiple projects within tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with different web browsers, and Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel
• Interest in film criticism
• Possess a passion for and expertise in movies, fashion, and pop culture, both contemporary and classic
• Thorough understanding of the film and TV industries
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus
