Producer, writer and creator of original content for WPXI.com and Channel 11’s social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  Employee will work with the Promotions and Sales Departments to create original content across these platforms. Employee will cover local events which will require operating video and digital cameras, conducting interviews, editing video and photos, and in some cases appearing on camera.  Employee must be a self-starter, confident, and have strong time management, organization, collaboration and people skills.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

 

 

75% Cover local events and produce original content to be used on WPXI.com and social media accounts

 

Task 1: Seek out popular local entertainment events that our news team would not typically cover and attend the event to shoot video, conduct interviews and create compelling and engaging content

 

Task 2: Work with the Sales Department to identify events important to our clients and help to provide exposure and content and attend as a representative of the station

 

Task 3: Write, edit, and post-produce content from the events and post on WPXI.com, social media accounts and OTT apps

 

Task 4: Develop and execute strategies to increase followers for social media accounts

 

 

 

25% Promote the Channel 11 and NBC brands across digital and social platforms

 

 

Task 1: Work with the multi-media producer to develop promotions around NBC shows and events

 

 

Task 2: Participate in station events and help coordinate news and promotion 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 2 years’ experience in video production, reporting or on-camera hosting and/or marketing, or Bachelor’s degree with 2 years media internships specializing in video/multimedia production and marketing

Additional Requirements:

  • Proficient in Avid Newscutter, Adobe Premier and Adobe Photoshop preferred; Social Media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc. DSLR and video camera experience.
  • Requires the ability to work non-traditional hours
  • Local travel is required.
