Broadway.com is seeking a positive, creative and self-motivated Features Editor.
The editor will be responsible for managing all written features on the site, including interviews, photo features and event coverage, as well as conceiving and assigning original ideas for content with a team of on-staff and freelancer writers and producers. They will also be involved in scheduling and coordinating original photo and video features and creating special publishing content and helping to prioritize pitches and content on a daily basis.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for entertainment and the kind of content that Broadway.com creates, with the vision of making the theater scene exciting and accessible. They should not only care about what's happening on Broadway, but on the pop culture scene at large.
Please be creative, clever and forward-thinking. And an excellent writer and mindful copy-editor.
- Conceiving, assigning, editing and publishing features to a team of producers and writers.
- Writing features.
- Cultivating relationships with new freelancers.
- Helping to manager an editorial calendar with a keen eye on when features are best released.
- Ability to conceive of features that react to news events and timely hooks.
- Collaborating with other editors and producers to keep teamwork productive.
