Job Description:

The Wall Street Journal is seeking a reporter to cover one of our readers’ most fervent passions: college sports. This role requires a reporter who can write and report creatively about what happens on the field while also chronicling the intensifying debate about the nature of amateurism and the NCAA’s rules. In its season, college football will be a core focus of this role, with the reporter generating a strong stream of unique features about a sport that inspires intense loyalty among fans. The focus of the job will later shift to college basketball and the run-up to the cash-generating bonanza of March Madness. Throughout the year, this job also deals with a never-ending parade of stories about corruption, scandal, policy and big business, and therefore requires a reporter who can navigate locker rooms, courtrooms and board rooms.
