GZ&A is a strategic communications and marketing agency in Union Square, Manhattan, working with leading brands, nonprofits, and people doing good for the world. We are seeking a communications and marketing professional with experience working with media as well as in digital strategy and social media. Initially, the position is part-time with intended growth to full-time.

The ideal candidate should have 1-3 years of experience working and placing in “traditional” and new media, identifying trending news, developing stories, drafting public relations materials, writing for social media platforms, and analyzing social metrics. Ideal candidates possess the following:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital/social media (i.e. new tools, algorithm changes, platform enhancements
  • Ability to author and identify relevant content for social networks
  • Experience developing growth strategies across all social channels and managing audience engagement campaigns
  • An understanding of and familiarity with social media platform analytics
  • Solid experience in public relations, including writing press releases, media advisories, talking points, and backgrounders; pitching media and building media lists
  • Success identifying stories and placing them in media – local, national, international – across both digital and traditional media
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong motivation to work with others in a collaborative, start-up environment
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collegially in a team
  • Agency experience a plus but not a requirement

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • One to three years related experience required with established track record
  • GSuite (Google Docs, Spreadsheets, etc.), MS office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google+, Snapchat, Hootsuite, etc.), Cision (preferred, but not required)
