The Producer is a key contributor to the overall content strategy. This role is responsible leading content creation across assigned programs for NBC Sports Washington and its digital media assets. This positon will create, oversee and execute unique projects across all platforms and will help to develop and create unique brand experiences for Washington, DC fans.

  • Produce multi-platform live shows, including but not limited to formatting the show, determining storylines, coordinating cut-ins, and writing copy
  • Coordinate all live shots during broadcast
  • Daily communication with digital assignment desk to produce multi-platform content in pre-production or after the show
  • Proactively propose original, timely and innovative content ideasDevelop contingency plans for breaking stories
  • Produce specials, original programming or non-live content as assigned
  • Thorough knowledge of local and national sports required Proactively search for latest and relevant content around the web and social media platformsAbility to produce write, edit and post stories (textual, photos and audio) to our digital properties utilizing a content management system and other digital toolsAbility to edit and post blogs, articles and videos created by our digital media reporters, on-air talent and players
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    • BA/BS degree in Radio/TV/Film, Communications, or equivalent experience required
    • Minimum of Four (4) years television experience
    • Minimum of 2 years experience producing live shows
    • Minimum of 2 years experience generating social media content
    • Minimum of 3 years experience generating web content
    • Experience with and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite design programs such as Photoshop and Premiere
    • Familiarity with modern web content management systems (Drupal CMS experience a plus)

    • Must possess experience producing live studio shows
    • Strong work ethic, positive attitude and leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities a must
    • Ability to self-start, self-manage, meet deadlines and learn from mistakes
    • Must possess poise under pressure and be able to meet tight deadlines
    • Knowledge of web, online video and mobile standards, best practices, design and usability principles, and constraints
    • Must be very open to coaching, feedback and taking immediate action to improve themselves and their content
    • Experience taking directive from multiple managers
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
